In my time in TEAM, I've worked on many projects. Some of them my own while others were collaborations with other classmates. Regardless of the group dynamic we had always followed the five discplines of personal mastery, shared vision, systems thinking, team learning and mental models.
The first major collaborative project was called "Changes on the East End" (G2-1). Since the East End of Long Island is constantly evolving in the population's ethicity and socioeconomic status (MM), we thought it would be good to create a website depicting that (G1-8, SV, ST). We wanted individuals that visited this site to learn about the changing of history on the East End (G1-1) This was our first major endeavor. I really enjoyed this project because I was extremely engaged in the construction and design of the site. I played a leading role with it's creating along with Sean Zay. We constantly came up with ideas and improved on each other's work. As a group whole, we would share different skills that we had acquired on our own (TL). I invested a lot of time in this collaboration because it was the first time I was working with the Macomedia Software. I was able to learn a lot on my own creating many different things such as a website and Macromedia Flash animations (G1-10, PM). Although it never came to fruition, this project is still a project that I was proud of (G2-2)
Since members of the group started to leave the program, the "Changes on the East End" I joined another group called the North Star (G2-1). The North Star group based it's website on the story written by Peter Reynolds. The driving force behind our website is that metaphorically everyone has their own personal North Star that guides them through various journies within their lives. So we wanted to create a site depicting that (SV, ST, MM) For more information you can visit our rationale. My part of the project was to create a site using Macromedia Flash and Dreamweaver that educates how the North Star/Polaris was used for navigation (G2-4).In my site I created websites explaining how to find the North Star/Polaris, how latitude lines are determined and how the altitude of the North Star/Polaris relates to latitude (G1-1).To supplement the text on the websites, I added Macromedia Flash Animations for a visual tutorial (G2-5). As a result of this project, I was able to learn more about Macromedia Flash and Dreamweaver than I had before. This allowed me to achieve a higher personal mastery of the software (PM). This project was more difficult because when I was creating the pages and animations, I was taking them to broader levels. Some of the Macromedia Flash animations that I created had more layers than anything I had created before. I found this to be very challenging but a good challenge. In the end I enjoyed working on this project (G2-2).
