ARTIST AND WRiTERS OF THE EAST END
The Artist and Writer website was an example of a collaborative effort of three creative people with a shared vision(SV) and a mental model (MM)that was developed through the learning experience that was TEAM. It is an example of a system functioning well and an illustration of my personal ability to work well in a collaborative setting. (G2-1) It was with great joy and pride we pushed this project in the community so it might continue to grow and have purpose.(G2-2)
It was through the role I played, as worker bee and co conspirator, that I developed a greater sense of Web design and Dreamweaver. (PM) It was the collaborative nature of the project that helped me come to understand how I fit in to the system. Thinking flexibly (HM7) Each of us shared work but played to our strengths. (ST) My writing got better as I found pride through approval, (G-2-3)and when I helped a fellow Team member with the software it helped us both reinforce the necessary skills.(TL) Ideas seemed to grow and develop positively with each successive week. Ideas flowed in a variety of "web like" fashions effecting each other as we moved from project to project. (HM16)
Peter Senge Schools That Learn
* Personal Mastery (PM)
* Mental Models (MM)
* Shared Vision (SV)
* Team Learning (TL)
* Systems Thinking (ST)
This collaboration work is an excellent example of my ability to work with other people (G2-1). I became aware of the living aspect of a system. Seeing and thinking of my friendship networks, my family, my class, the school community and my Team as systems with shared visions. Over the last two years, we have developed a site that we truly believe in and worked as a unit to perfect.(G2-2) “I gained outstanding skill at communicating technical and educational information to colleagues engaged in delivering a common project (G1-10, G2-3). “ * The honesty and open communication that we shared as a group formed a deep bond of trust and mutual respect. Ideas flowed and the project moved on. (TL,HM12). As a result of this project, I have come understand the need for a shared vision and the systemic element of human relations. I feel very comfortable working in a collaborative development group, this one in particular, and I am eager to carry this experience into the future. (HM15)
